My flowers were amazing, they created exactly what I wanted and the results were fabulous...my flowers were one of my favorite parts of our wedding!! Can't say enough great things about the ladies at Flowers Make Scents.

did not totally get what was agreed upon throughout our meetings too many different people to talk to and did not seem to communicate with each other told them what we wanted and they decided on their own what would look nice-flowers left over from another wedding

Flowers Make Scents is a charming yet busy shop run by a mother-daughter team. There is a nice selection of decor and florals; we opted for wedding party flowers and reception centerpieces. Flowers can fluctuate in color and bloom so they didn't turn out as mostly preferred (as seen the day of consultation). FMS was great to add special touches (a tie that once belonged to my father, wrapped around my bouquet stem), corresponding wedding colors wrapped boutonnieres and other bouquets stems. FMS invited me to come by and see the flowers the day before the wedding as well. This is a shop worth stopping by!

When shopping for my wedding flowers, I was one of those unsure brides that had some ideas of what I wanted but was not sure of the choices that would be available to me. Flowers Make Scents was highly recommended to me through a mutual friend. I called to make an appointment for a consultation and found the professionalism of the process so very easy that I completely felt I had made the right choice. From the consultation to the actual day of my wedding I was overwhelmed by the fantastic outcome of my special day. I can't thank Flowers Make Scents enough for makiing my wedding day one I will never forget. Everything went perfectly which was very important to me. The quality of service went above and beyond as well as everything else. Recommend very highly

They provided everything we were looking for and more! Our flowers were beautiful and they got us exactly what we wanted for our price range. They delivered on time and kept in mind my idea of flowers from local gardeners. I couldn't believe how much the flowers looked to the pictures I had sent and what we had talked about in our appointments. We live a couple of hours away and they were so wonderful to work with and really accommodated to us, even from a distance. These guys do amazing work, I would and WILL recommend them to everyone!

Used this vender for our flowers. The bridal party and the reception, they were all right, not exactly what I expected for the price of $1350. The tables arrangements were very small, not what I was promised. I wanted full draping florals, I received small bouquets at the top of each tall table vase. They were professional, and very nice people, but will I use them again ..."no".

Amazing!!!!!!! Wow! When they say they can work with your budget, they really mean it. Amongst all my vendors, FMS was the most professional and provided the most value for my money. I thought, being on a tight budget, they would 1) not be able to work on my budget or 2) would work within my budget but would deliver flowers that looked like junk. I was definitely proven wrong. I got the most gorgeous bouquets, boutineers, and centerpieces for my wedding. I couldn't have been more pleased. Working with them was actually very pleasant. I could tell they know the business, have been doing it for quite some time, and exemplify professionalism. I definitely cannot say that for some of the other vendors I worked with. Thank you FMS for helping make my wedding day gorgeous yet affordable!

My first floral consultation was at Strange's Florist in Short Pump. I gave them my budget and then spent 45 minutes going through books with the florist and drawing up plans for those plans to come out to cost twice as much as my budget. I was told in order to cut my budget I could buy my own vases, pick up and deliver all my arrangements myself, and use candles on half of my reception tables instead of flowers. I was incredibly discouraged. My second appointment was with Flowers Make Scents and they were recommended by my reception venue, Richmond Country Club. I relayed the issues I had with my first floral appointment (wasting an hour of time to only come out with something I could not afford when I told them up front what I could afford). I was quickly assured that would not happen at Flowers Make Scents. I got all of the floral elements I desired for my wedding and reception (including delivery!) for exactly my budgeted amount. We also looked through books and magazines and I felt she really listened and understood what I wanted, even though I did not have all of the proper names of the flowers or types of arrangements. Also, I was invited to walk through the back of the shop where they were currently designing for a wedding that weekend, so I got to see real life examples of their work. Flowers were delivered in a timely manner and looked great. I originally didn't think flowers were that big of a deal, they were something the guests wouldn't even take note of. They die in the end. Well I was wrong. I can't express how much I loved my flowers, how many compliments I received (even from my photographer who attends gazillions of weddings), and how great my pictures look with the flowers in them. How much I loved my flowers aside, Flowers Make Scents was affordable, did an excellent job on arrangements, had excellent communication, and overall were very easy to work with. She asked for a sample of my bridesmaid dresses and matched ribbon to it exactly. I was impressed with the attention to detail. I was allowed to rent vases to save on my budget and Flowers Make Scents picked up the vases the next week. I didn't have to worry about returning them. I would use them again in a heartbeat and am so glad I came across them for my flowers. I admit there were elements of my wedding where I do not feel I got my money's worth, but I am happy to say I do not feel that way about my flowers.

I interviewed quite a few florists, and Flowers Make Scents was at the top of the list. When I went to the Richmond Bridal show that is what sold me. Their booth was so creative and the flowers were the most beautiful I had ever seen! They were easy to work with, and I think the flowers that they created for the wedding were outstanding! I highly recommend their creativity! It was a wonderful experience in every way working with them.

This Florist Makes every effort to make that special day go smoothly. Detail oriented and follow through. YOU REALLY CANT FIND A BETTER FLORIST TO ORGANIZE YOUR WEDDING FLOWERS.

My flowers were my absolute favorite part of my wedding. They were the most gorgeous flowers I have ever seen - and everyone else loved them too. One small issue was the color of one of the flowers in the bridesmaids bouquets wasn't exactly what I wanted, but it still looked beautiful. It was especially awesome because I had to plan my wedding from out of town and they were very accommodating and emailed me pictures when I couldn't come down to see the centerpieces.

The planning was easy. We gave them a theme, requested yellow roses be a part of the bridal bouquet, and turned them loose. The price was excellent and the flowers on the day were just beautiful. They even dealt with the fact that we had to cut our budget just a few weeks before the wedding with grace and generosity. Cannot say enough good things about them! Highly recommend!!

The flowers were beautiful at my wedding! The ladies at the consultation seemed to really listen to what we wanted and offer suggestions instead of trying to force ideas on us like some other places. I rated them a little lower in professionalism for a few reasons. First, it seemed that they weren't ready for us when we came to see a sample centerpiece and pew decor--we waited for awhile and the samples seemed a little thrown together. Second, they brought the flowers to the wrong church. However, my church has the exact same name as another church in another part of town--but we did point that out when booking with them. They got there on time, but all of the bridal party pictures had to be pushed until after the ceremony. They did have some great things about them--they were willing to work within our budget and make adjustments as needed. They created a wonderful "breakaway" bouquet that was exactly what I wanted. The prices were the most competitive we found, and the work was wonderful. I'd book them again, as I think the church mix up was pretty specific to my situation. :)

Highly recommended! Very friendly, professional, and helpful in planning and executing our wedding floral design. Lots of thoughtful touches in addition to stunning centerpiece and bouquet arrangements. Fairly priced, too!

Flowers Make Scents did a beautiful job with our wedding flowers. Not only were the flowers themselves gorgeous, but the staff was great to work with. The prices were very reasonable, and they delivered and picked up items we had rented from them. It was a hassle-free experience, and we loved the result!!

I had an unorthodox request for flowers... rather than the typical, uniform look for the bridesmaids, I wanted each girl to have their own accent color. My wedding was very "autumnal" in theme and each girl wore white. My colors were red, orange, gold, green, and plum. While it sounded fine in my head, Flowers Make Scents did a beyond gorgeous job. It was better than I had imagined. My bouquet was white with those accent colors scattered within the petals. It was unique and beautiful. They saved me a LOT of trouble making my chuppah for me as well... we had an interfaith service and I was at a loss as to how to build the contraption myself. This company made a perfect canopy with all my colors. All the other florists I interviewed looked at me like I had a lost my mind while Flowers Make Scents saw the opportunity and made my dream a reality. I couldn't be more impressed with them.

I was not sure what I wanted when I first walked in, but the consulation blew me away! When I saw the bouquets at the wedding, I loved them! I have been complimented on my pick of colors a lot since the wedding. They were very flexible with me too during the process. My photographer and I had trouble aligning our schedules for the portrait session and they were able to get my flowers done on short notice. The other quality that was refreshing was the attitude: they were very bubbly (one lady in particular) and excited for me every time I came in.

Had a really great experience with the ladies at Flowers Make Scents---they had the experience to help me figure out what I wanted to do, and within my budget. Surprised me with a few extras I wasn't expecting and had everyone on time and in perfect condition---worked well with my reception site to work out some problems that popped up beyond everyone's control. Highly recommended!

The flowers weren't EXACTLY what I had invisioned but they were absolutely beautiful, fresh, and a great price. The girls are so fun to work with and make you feel like your wedding is the highlight of their year.

Flowers Make Scents did a fabulous job with our wedding bouquets and floral arrangements. The florists were great about listening to what I had in mind, but also suggesting other flowers that could go along with the color palette and themes I described. The cost was higher than originally quoted, but still within our price range. We sent swatches of the bridesmaids' dresses to match ribbon that would go around the centerpieces, and while it was still a blue ribbon, it definitely wasn't the same color. But all in all it ended up looking ok. The floral arrangements themselves were perfect, and the delivery was right on time. I would definitely recommend Flowers Make Scents.
