My husband and I married on 5/12/12 at Jennettes Pier. I spoke with John Harper when i first started planning and i knew that i wanted to hire him. My mom and I traveled to OBX to meet with several vendors and reserve our wedding team. John Harper is such an awesome person, we booked him right then and i was SO excited we did! He rocked our wedding. My husband and I did not give him a "No play list"and let him do what he does best, and He did and AMAZING job!!! All of our guests loved him and have been talking about what a great job he did. He does such a wonderful job at reading the crowd and was right on point with all of the music played at the wedding. John was a great DJ for us! He played the music we wanted, and made sure to clear it with me for any requests guests made that we had told him not to play. He kept our guests on the dance floor the entire evening, and was always available for us if we had questions or needed to discuss something with him before our wedding day. I highly recommend him for anyone planning an OBX wedding!

John Harper is an AMAZING DJ! We chose John for our DJ after attending 2 weddings that he worked and seeing how he can truly keep the party going! He is able to read the guests and choose music that can keep them dancing all night long! Our wedding was an absolute BLAST and John had a lot to do with it! John was great to work with; after speaking with him on the phone the 1st time we knew he was the right DJ for us. He had a great mix of music, and was flexible as well. The dance floor was hardly ever empty the entire evening. Thanks John!

My Husband and I live in San Diego and had our wedding in OBX. With me on the west coast and both of our families in New York/New Jersey, my Mom and I decided it would be best to hire a wedding planner (Kathy Halloran) to help us out. We flew down to NC in January to meet Kathy and visit all of the vendors. John was recommended by Kathy, but was out of town during my visit, so he kindly called in to speak to me on the phone and from the moment I heard his voice - he was hired! He's really got a great voice - it is the absolute perfect radio/dj voice! I'm serious - and when you call him to DJ your event (I highly recommend you do) you will see what I mean! My husband is pretty picky about his music and John was great at playing whatever we wanted. We sent him a list of over hundreds of songs. He asked us which songs we wanted to play during certain times - like our first dance, and our dance with our parents, but the rest of the music he took and ran with it and did an excellent job. Our guests are honestly still talking about how great the DJ and music were. I never had to worry about anything during the time that I worked with John. He was extremely kind to my family and to my guests. Overall, John is professional and courteous and a complete pleasure to work with. You can tell he really loves what he does. Thank you John! John had my wedding attendants dancing the entire night! He was great! Not only that, but he was extremely flexible...we had him moving from the entrance of the aquarium, back to the dance room, and also playing CDs during dinner, anddd incorporating a song into the matron of honor's speech. He did an incredible job and everyone at the wedding loved him!

John did an excellent job for my daughter's wedding at the Outer Banks. He was always a professional and went above and beyond to accommodate our music needs--even at the end when no one wanted to leave and kept chanting "one more song." He is very easy to talk to and the music flowed through the night for an exciting and fun finish. I would give him my highest recommendation for anyone looking for an experienced DJ. His expertise meant that was one thing we did not have to be concerned with during the wedding planning!

John was great! He was very easy to reach and very helpful in planning the wedding, especially from afar. I could tell he had done this for many years! He read the crowd well and played everything we wanted, did not play what we didn't, and made excellent choices. Everyone had a great time and the impending storm was the only reason we ended. A true professional- you will not be sorry!

I can't say enough about John Harper. From the get-go, John preferred to talk on the phone so that we could better collaborate on the music for our wedding day. He was able to meet all our needs even from another state. He even initiated contact to check on us and our plans for our wedding day music. We gave him a very extensive playlist and he played those songs, plus added some songs that matched our taste based on the list. When my Grandparents requested a polka, he came up quietly to check and see if that was ok, which, of course, it was. Our wedding was small, but every single second of the reception (excluding dining and speech times), the dance floor was packed with EVERYONE. The comments on how great of a time everyone had and the great job that John did were unending from all sides. We LOVED having him make our wedding day much more fun than it would've been without him. (He's got great music taste, too, and during our conversations, we found ourselves talking about how great the Beatles are...and he taught me a few things about them I did not know--he's got great music knowledge.) I can't imagine another DJ coming close to John Harper's high quality. Great value, too! Thanks, John!!

We were married in the Outer Banks two weeks ago and John Harper was the best DJ we could have asked for! He gave us great advice and answered all of our questions, plus he really listened to us and gave us what we asked for. He's a terriffic DJ and knows how to read the crowd and play what will keep people on the dance floor. Highly recommended!

I can not say enough wonderful things about working with John. He was so helpful with planning our event, even beyond just the music! He was so responsive to any calls/emails, and able to answer all questions and make me feel at ease. We never met him until our reception, but the way things went, you would think he had known us for a long time. The reception was so much fun, and that is in large part due to John. I would highly recommend him to anyone.

We truly enjoyed having John as the DJ for our wedding. Leading up to the wedding, he was easy to get in touch with and even easier to work with. He had great suggestions about what we would want, and he was right about it all. During the evening, John was effective in guiding our guests through the evening without ever being intrusive. People of all ages were up and dancing, and he kept people dancing for the entire evening. To top it off, John was also very reasonably priced. John truly was the perfect choice for our evening!

John was a terrific DJ. Even though I had some odd music requests, including a good bit of older music (like Johnny Cash, Willie Nelson, the Beatles), he played everything I wanted to hear - It almost seemed like I made up the playlist myself. He also had very good timing as far as when and what dance music to play - Even though my guest list was small, people were always out on the dance floor, including people of all ages - young kids all the way up to grandparents!
