Salon Vivace accomodated my wedding party of eight, and they were fantastic. For planning purposes they were very flexible. A couple of my bridesmaids changed their mind a few times about what exact services they wanted to get, right up until the week before the wedding, and they accomodated every change without giving me any grief for being difficult. They had no problems with me bringing in lunch since we were there for so long, and they even went out of their way to set up the food in their lobby for my party to pick at as they went to and from appointments. I greatly appreciated them doing this and it added a special touch to our experience.I felt that the prices were very reasonable for the location and the quality of service. I feel like some salons can bamboozle you with prices and charge way more than their starting price. I've gotten updos before where I am quoted $50 and up, and then I'm charged $75 for what I find to be an incredibly simple style. Their prices started at $62, and my bridal hair was $75 when it was a bit complicated, and I don't think anyone in my bridal party paid much more. Same goes for make-up, they didn't charge any more than the base price. And they did a fabulous job on my bridal hair and make-up. I didn't get bridal portraits done, so I wasn't super excited about having to do a trial run since I felt like it was kind of a waste of money. But it was totally worth it. During my trial run, my stylist took a lot of time listening to what I wanted my make-up to look like, and played around and tweeked the make-up to fit my taste. I was pleased with how the make-up turned out after the trial run. But once she did it for the day of, she executed the make-up exactly the way I wanted since she knew exactly what I wanted, and it looked flawless. The same goes for the hair. I brought in a picture of how I wanted my hair to look, and once completed it looked close to how I wanted it, but her and I discussed a couple of things that would be better to do the day of. When she did my hair the day of she knew exactly what to do and executed it perfectly without any fuss. I walked out of their feeling beautiful and exactly I imagined myself to look on my wedding day.

They made a mess of my nails in Newport News. They had very limited polish choices. They were somewhat responsive to fix it, but it made for a hectic wedding day. And they were very, very expensive. Disappointed, especially for the value.

I actually went to the Salon Vivace location in Newport News VA. My maid of honor and I went the two days before the wedding for just a fun day at the spa and each got a massage and a manicure and pedicure. Everyone was friendly and helpful and we got great service. I had to juggle my schedule a little at the last minute and they were helpful and understanding. It was a great time to relax!
