The Sanderling is an exquisite resort to have your destination wedding. We had an absolute gorgeous day and everything was done to perfection. Many thanks to Jessica Chapman for making our special day more than we could have ever imagined. We loved working with you!!!

We had the most beautiful and amazing beach wedding!! Wendy and everyone at The Sanderling were wonderful! Didn't have to worry about a single thing on our wedding day! It was perfect!!

When I first got engaged in September 10', my fiance and myself knew immediately that we wanted to have a beach wedding and since OBX was such a special place to us it was our top destination. We put off planning for a while, and after about 6 months we decided that we wanted to do an August wedding. With just about four months to plan our wedding from Colorado I was very nervous about getting everything done, and having the beautiful ceremony and reception I had dreamed of. When I first contacted Wendy about the short amount of time she reassured me that we had plenty of time and everything would come together perfectly. Since I was not available to meet with all of the vendors and scope them out myself Wendy gave me contacts for vendors that fulfilled every dream I had for my wedding. Wendy also had me contact Nannette, a wedding planner, from Proper Settings. The extra cost was worth every penny. Not only was she a great help throughout the planning process, but she was so helpful and wonderful on the wedding day. It was so nice having these two ladies to turn to, any questions or doubts I had was resolved by these two women..they are wonderful!! I can not speak highly enough of how amazing my wedding was. Many people told me in the days leading up to the wedding not to be stressed because things go wrong all the time on that day and the only one that notices is you. I can say with confidence that I had the most wonderful, care-free, perfect day thanks to the Sanderling. There was not a single thing I can think of to this day that went wrong. They accounted clearly accounted for any problems that could have taken place and make sure that everything went according to plan. If you are planning a beach wedding in a short amount of time, and especially if it is from a distance, I would tell anyone and everyone to go with the Sanderling. Wendy was able to help me fulfill every dream for my wedding and catered to my every wish and desire. There was no task to big or small that she was not able to solve. The venue is amazing, the food is amazing and they have the most wonderful service and staff. It was such a magical night for our us, our family and our guests. I cant even count the number of people who said it was the nicest wedding they had ever been to! SO.. I can say with complete confidence that if you want the most wonderful wedding of your dreams, by choosing the Sanderling they will come true.

We knew we wanted to be married on the beach at sunrise and found many venues that could accomodate our request but only the Sanderling Resort and their amazing staff was able to accomodate our wish to have our breakfast reception on the beach. Our wedding coordinator, Wendy Murray, made sure that everything we dreamed it would be was a reality. Our family dined on fabulous five star food made by talented chefs who made us omelettes and crepes right on the beach. Their very attentive staff made sure there was nothing we went without. All in all it was a special magical day that we will never forget. We cannot thank everyone at the Sanderling for their professionalism, flexibility and dedication to our wedding day! Wendy and the staff at the Sanderling were phenomenal!!! We had the best wedding we could have ever imagined, and it is all owed to them. Wendy has an amazing ability to be there at the exact second you need her. The wedding guests were raving not only about the food (which was absolutely delicious!) but the awesome job Wendy did of making sure the wedding went off flawlessly. We were married on quite possibly one of the hottest days of the year, and Wendy was sure the guests had cool rags, ice water and plenty of fans. The staff was impeccable, from knowing our names, to keeping our drinks in ice while we took photos. Planning the wedding from out of state, Wendy was so incredibly prompt (I'm talking responding to emails within MINUTES) and detailed that there was really nothing for us to worry or stress about. The Sanderling is a group of truly talented and passionate individuals dedicated to making your wedding day perfect in every way. I cannot say enough good things about Wendy and The Sanderling. If you are getting married on the Outer Banks, I truly think this is the only option for a beautiful, flawless event.

We found our entire experience at The Sanderling (from initial inquiry phone call to check-out) to be positive in every aspect. EACH staff member we encountered greeted us with a smile and their helpfulness was a breath away. Wendy was receptive and responsive with every question about ALL the details! If we could relive one of the most incredible day of our lives, we would do it all over again! Excellent value for a destination wedding!

You made such a special event even more so by handling all the duties, freeing up our small group to enjoy the moment.

This is going to be a RAVE review for Wendy Murray and The Sanderling Resort. My husband and I live in TX but wanted a beach wedding. Duck NC came up as one of the top places for a beach wedding with The Sanderling with top billing for venues. Since I am a hands on/detailed oriented person, I was hesitant about living so far away and trying to plan my dream wedding. I shouldn't have worried; Wendy was available and my rock from the moment I called her until after the wedding. She put me in contact with the best vendors in the area; Island Photography, Nic McLean, Rev. Jay Bowman, Great Cakes and Renee Landry Florist. It was the most stress free experience and I had nothing to do but anticipate and enjoy our day. Wendy took care of every detail and worked directly with my vendors so all I had to do was pick out what I wanted and then they all did the rest. My wedding day ran so smooth. Wendy stayed in the wings but ran the show so effortlessly. She made sure there was not one hick up with the day. We got compliment after compliment about the professionalism, how gorgeous everything was and how wonderful the food was. We sent the picture links to our friends and family who could not be there and they were blown away. I cannot say enough about the entire experience. If you are thinking about having a NC beach wedding, this is the only place to have it. It was so perfect, we are coming back for our first anniversary. LOVE WENDY AND THE SANDERLING!!

I would like to thank everyone at The Sanderling for making my daughters wedding event(Erin and Thor) the best weekend ever. We initially selected the Sanderling based on their reputation. It proved to be the best possible decision we could have made. The hotel provided an amazing and fantastic wedding coordinator with who we worked through the entire planning process. She helped to give us piece of mind since we were planning from afar. Jessica ensured that our day went flawlessly...it was truly a prefect and very magical day for us as well as all of our guests. Every single vendor recommended to us by the Sanderling did an outstanding job for us. The food was beautiful and delicious and the service was impeccable. They made us feel very special! Having a spa on-site for hair and make-up made things so easy!

I could not have picked a more perfect venue for my small (30 people) wedding. The coordinator (Wendy) truly went above and beyond to make my day special. She did everything from cueing the music to bustling my dress. My day was perfect and stress-free thanks to Wendy and the Sanderling team!

My daughter was recently married at The Sanderling Resort. Wendy and all the staff were fantastic and no detail was left unturned. I couldn't envisage a more perfect experience. My family and all our guests had a truly memorable wedding experience from our first meeting and enjoyed every single moment.Not only did we have help selecting first class vendors - the quartet, flowers, band, DJ, shutterbooth etc the food was superb. How can one serve 200 filet mignon's all perfectly cooked? They even arranged for a Pimms Cocktail as the signature drink due to the many guests from England.Ashley and the Spa were most accommodating in catering to all the beauty needs of many of the female guests. A special "doggy" room was also made available to a guest who's dog had just had a stroke.Thanks to Wendy and The Sanderling, my daughter and husband will have memories to cherish for many years. The Sanderling is an awesome place to have a wedding. It's beautiful, and everything you need is within walking distance: spa for hair and makeup, a variety of places for the ceremony and pictures, wonderful banquet areas, and delicious food. The staff is incredible, and the coordinator, Jessica, is with you the whole way. Even though the weather didn't cooperate, and our ceremony had to be indoors, the Sanderling still made my wedding magical. Jessica and the staff were so helpful, and were more optimistic than me. They were still holding out that the wind would die down so we could do the ceremony outdoors, up to 45 minutes before the ceremony was supposed to start. (The wind made for some great pictures later.) If you have a small wedding, the Elopement Package is the way to go! Well worth the money. My only regret is that I did not go to the bridal tasting in January. The food was so good, I wished I had a chance to try some of it twice!

The Sanderling staff was very attentive and helpful. We had a flawless wedding ceremony and reception. The bridal suite is amazing. The food was very flavorful and there are many options to choose from for the elopement package. We would recommend this resort to everyone looking for a wedding beach getaway!

The Sanderling was an amazing venue for our wedding. The staff bent over backwards to accomodate our every request. They were exceedingly flexible, thorough, personable, and respectful. What an incredible value. We did everything with the Sanderling, from the rehearsal dinner, pampering at the spa, the wedding ceremony on the beach, the wedding reception, and a family Sunday brunch. Everything was flawless, largely in thanks to our wedding coordinator Mrs. Jessica Chapman. Very, very highly recommended!
