Scott was very professional and personable. He helped my husband and I to relax the day of our rehersal and gave us pointers for the day of our wedding so that we would not be nervous and just focus on each other. We chose to write our own vows and he follow with a modern vow, which worked great for us! He made us feel very comfortable and gave us direction during our cermony about where to stand and when to do and say certain things. Thank you Scott!

I feel for the woman who had written the poor comment before. We had found Scott through a website, met with him and signed a contract then because we felt he was a good fit for our wedding. We also put half the money down that day. During the weeks approaching our wedding I felt confident about everything except Scott. I had sent a few e-mails and placed a few phone calls and messages to confirm that everything was still good to go for our wedding day, double check to see if I needed to provide anything else, and to discuss his plan for the ceremony. I also knew he required the rest of the payment prior to the wedding so I wanted to get that squared away too. I did not hear back from him until the NIGHT BEFORE while we were at our rehearsal dinner. He was calling to get his final payment. Up until that point I honestly wondered if he was going to be there at all. We had even lined up our neighbor (a minister) as a back-up plan. While the service was nice and Scott was able to make the wedding enjoyable for our guests, the guessing game leading up to everything was by far the most stressful part of our big day. You have enough to worry about with planning a wedding... the actual "getting married" part should be your most solid point... everything else is trivial. Because of the difficulty to get ahold of Scott prior to our wedding, I would be unable to recommend him to anyone.

Made our day very special ... especially when a last minute unexpected crowded beach happened, Scott took full control and set up beautifully still giving us privacy for our ceremony. Our ceremony was short and sweet but very meaningful, and Scott eased my nervousness (anxiety) with a few laughs during the ceremony. Thank you for a job well done and I would highly reccommend Virginia Beach Weddings to every bride and groom looking for a ceremony that they can cater to their wants and needs, they do just that!! :)

I hired Scott Ziegler as my wedding officiant and I am hoping to prevent someone else from making the same mistake. I’m just going to give you the story and please take from it what you will. My husband and I met with him, liked him, and trusted that he would perform a beautiful ceremony for us. That day we signed a contract with him. When we signed the contract, he told us that we must have our wedding license the day of the ceremony or he would not be able to marry us (this was about 2 ½ months before the wedding). The week of the wedding I called him twice (he made no attempt to contact us) to let him know which area we planned on setting up the seats and all of those types of arrangements. I told him I felt a little scatter brained with everything going on and asked if there was something I should be thinking about that I might forget. I ended both conversations that way and his response was nothing. The day of the wedding, my caterer was late and wouldn’t let us in to drop of the wedding cake that my mom made causing myself and the bridesmaids to be 15 minutes late. Scott had been at the ceremony site with my husband for about a half hour. As the limo was pulling up, he looked at my husband and asked for the license. As I stepped out of the limo, Scott walked up to me and said he was sorry but he wouldn’t be able to marry us that day since we didn’t have the license. We immediately sent someone back to the house to get it (they could have left a half hour earlier if Scott asked for it immediately) and asked what we could do to fix the problem. He looked at his watch and said nothing, he had a prior engagement. We asked when he needed to leave. He avoided answering the question and instead said that he would stay 15 minutes . We told him that money wasn’t an issue, we would pay him for his time, but we knew that we wouldn’t have the license back here in fifteen minutes, so if he wasn’t going to stay later then he should let us know. We asked if he could stand up tell everyone that it wasn’t a marriage, but still say the nice words that he had prepared for us and we would get married another day. He said no, that he could lose his license for doing that. We asked if he could give those words to one of our guests since they were already written down and let them say it. We would still pay him extra for giving us the words. He said no. 15 min passed and he stayed longer for more money. He played the more money more time game until one of our friends thought to call her stepfather and ask if he would drive from North Carolina to perform the ceremony. When he agreed Scott became a little more willing to work with us. He eventually saw the marriage license, performed the ceremony, took our money, and we are thankful we never have to see him again. At no point did he attempt to reduce the stress of the situation, instead he heightened it. The story is condensed since there is not enough room to share all of the frustration that he caused, but I hope that my story helps someone on their wedding day.

Our original officiant was deployed by the Navy just a month before the wedding. We were in a scramble and contacted Scott Ziegler. He was able to accommodate us because our ceremony was on a Friday. He worked with my daughter and her fiance, and incoproated their ideas and wishes into his ceremony. We really didin't know what to expect and we were thrilled with his officating of the wedding. He was not able to be at the rehearsal but stepped right in and everything went off like clockwork. His ceremony was thoughtful and touching and very appropriate to the bride and groom. Thank you Scott for saving the day.

Scott Ziegler was great! He performed exactly the ceremony my husband and I were looking for. He was very responsive and quick at returning phone calls and e-mails prior to the "big day". He was very professional and explained how everything was going to happen and was willing to answer any and all questions. He is a little pricey but well worth it. I was extremely pleased with my choice of officiant!

Scott was awesome!Very professional (check out his website) and thorough. Also very flexible seeing that we had to change our ceremony venue 2 days before due to inclement weather (we had an outdoor wedding planned on the beach). He was a godsend in light of the fact that we weren't interested in a church wedding, etc. Thanks Scott!

I cannot say enough good things about Scott- our officiant!! He was great; very professional and experienced! We wanted a ceremony that was spiritual, non-denominational Christian, but not in a church. He did a great job of developing a unique ceremony that fit what my husband and I wanted. His website is great also. He has lots of reading selections (we chose our readings from his selections), and other helpful information for ceremonies. All of our guests thought our ceremony was great. I highly recommend that Scott officiate anyone's wedding!
